about
I joined Second Life at 14 and funded my teens selling virtual weapons. That turned into a computer science degree at Cambridge (Robinson College, specialising in graphics), where I met Herman Narula at the Computer Lab — and we decided to try to simulate worlds at a scale nobody had managed before.
Since then I've spent my career on the same problem from different angles: distributed simulation at Improbable, live metaversal events at MSquared, and real-time onchain worlds with Somnia.
- Co-founded Improbable with Herman Narula and Peter Lipka, building the first simulation engine out of a family home in Hertfordshire.
- Improbable raised $502M led by SoftBank at a $1B+ valuation — the largest European VC round of the year.
- Raised $150M from Andreessen Horowitz and SoftBank to build M² (MSquared), a network of interoperable metaverses, which I lead as CEO.
- MSquared powered ~30 large-scale live virtual events, including MLB's Virtual Ballpark and K-pop listening parties.
- Somnia, the layer-1 EVM chain developed with Improbable tech, launched mainnet and the SOMI token after 10B+ testnet transactions.
- Mash launched in beta — an AI-powered, collaborative 'Wikipedia for 3D assets' where anyone can photograph an object and turn it into a virtual one.
